If a Call to Impeach Trump Happens on the House Floor but Leadership Isn't There to Hear It Does It Make a Sound

Latest

Representative Al Green, a Democrat from Texas’s 9th district, took to the House floor on Wednesday morning to call for the impeachment of Donald Trump.

“I rise today, Mr. Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America for obstruction of justice. I do not do this for political purposes, Mr. Speaker. I do this because I stand for the great ideals this country stands for.”

It was a powerful address. Too bad that House Speaker Paul Ryan was not there to hear it. Ryan did not show up for the morning hour, and it’s unclear how many members were even seated for the session.

A few moments later, Representative Tom Emmer, Republican of Minnesota’s 6th district, took the podium to honor a woman named Pam as his state’s Art Teacher of the Year. “I speak for all Minnesotans when I say ‘thank you,’ Pam,” he said. “Your award is well-deserved.”

Things are good.
