Intrepid Fox News Reporter Covers Closed Red Hen Restaurant for Days As the World Burns

Media

Doug McKelway, intrepid Fox News reporter, has been working his friggin pants off every day, bravely traveling to and covering the Red Hen restaurant, where the owner politely asked press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave on Friday.

Here’s what McKelway reported there on Monday: “Hi Sandra, the Red Hen restaurant is closed on this Monday as it is every Monday. There are no horde of media out here, no horde of protestors.”

Here’s what McKelway reported there on Tuesday: “The Red Hen is scheduled to open tonight at 5:30. We will see what the day brings. Sandra, back to you.”

Here’s McKelway live-tweeting a video from the Red Hen:

Here’s McKelway’s write-up of what the Red Hen-Sanders incident has to say about the left’s war on civility, informed by his dogged on-the-ground reporting at the restaurant:

“In the window of the Red Hen Restaurant in Lexington, Va., the words of Martin Luther King Jr. are framed,” writes McKelway, filtering his reporting to bring readers the most crucial, and certainly not the only, detail he has uncovered on his assignment. “‘Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

Stay tuned for more updates from me about Doug, who is staying tuned to update us all about what’s happening at the still closed (because, again, this restaurant is only open for dinner) Red Hen.
