Ivanka Trump breaks her silence about her father's worst remarks about women yet

Even amid a slew of allegations of sexual misconduct against her father, Ivanka Trump said she can ignore the “negative stuff” because she knows the real Donald Trump.

“The greatest comfort I have is the fact that I know my father. Most of the people who write about him don’t. I do,” Trump told Fast Company when asked about the allegations. “So that gives me an ability to shrug off the things that I read about him that are wrong.”

When later asked for her reaction to the now-infamous leaked “grab them by the pussy” video from 2005, she responded in a statement that the remarks were “offensive.”

“My father’s comments were clearly inappropriate and offensive and I’m glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people,” Trump said in the statement.

During interviews for the profile, which was published Monday, reporter Anjali Mullany wrote that when she mentioned how some in the press call Ivanka her father’s “surrogate wife,” she cut the reporter off to say: “Which is deeply offensive. I feel that that’s a very sexist thing to say.”

The unflappable eldest Trump also said the one thing we’re all thinking: “I can’t wait till the election is over.”
