A Republican congressman from Louisiana called for Muslims to be hunted down and killed in the wake of the London terrorist attack.
“The free world... all of Christendom... is at war with Islamic horror,” Rep. Clay Higgins wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday. “Not one penny of American treasure should be granted to any nation who harbors these heathen animals.”
In the post, which also included a photo of officers shooting down one of the suspects in the attack on the London Bridge, Higgins continued: “Every conceivable measure should be engaged to hunt them down. Hunt them, identity [sic] them, and kill them. Kill them all.”
Higgins, a former police captain, was elected to the U.S. House in 2016. A member of his staff told The District Sentinel the Facebook page belongs to his campaign but stopped short of confirming whether Higgins himself posted the screed, even though the post is signed by “Captain Clay Higgins.”
Two weeks ago, the same page posted an Election Day video message from Higgins, which featured him wearing a sleeveless SWAT team vest and firing an assault rifle in front of a barn while telling viewers to vote Republican and “send a strong message to the socialists.”
“Tell the world that we’re Americans,” he said in the video. “We’d rather die on our feet than live on our knees.”
