Throughout the 2016 election, there’s been a steady drumbeat of stories about the newfound electoral strength of the Latinx community—a growing, increasingly liberal voting bloc that could very well play a deciding role in who ends up in the White House for the next four years.

Enter: #ThisLatinaVotedBecause, a hashtag created by Huffington Post’s Latino Voices vertical, which has become a rallying point for Latinas to share their election day stories, and offer a little insight into just what makes this particular election so meaningful for them.
