Liar Liar Jeff Sessions on Fire

Just over a month since proudly declaring his intent to separate undocumented immigrant children from their families, racist hobgoblin Jeff Sessions is now claiming he, um, didn’t do that.

“The American people don’t like the idea that we are separating families. We never really intended to do that,” Sessions told the Christian Broadcasting Network’s 700 Club in a preview clip of an interview set to air tomorrow and Monday, according to CNN.

“We never really intended to do that.”

Let’s take a jaunt down memory lane, way back to those heady days of May 7, 2018, when, standing in front a host of television cameras, Sessions proclaimed his intention to separate every single undocumented immigrant child from their parent:

If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law. If you don’t like that, then don’t smuggle children over our border.

Or, hey, if that’s too much ancient history for you, how about something a little more recent. Like, say, from just two weeks ago:

If people don’t want to be separated from their children, they should not bring them with them. We’ve got to get this message out.

Look, if you’re not impressed by Sessions’ wholehearted commitment to being as horrible as possible to the most vulnerable people among us, you’ve at least gotta hand it to the guy for the balls it takes to spit out a whopper like that without even breaking a sweat.
