New App LinkedUp! Helps You Find a Date On LinkedIn

Latest

LinkedIn is not strictly business anymore. A new dating app, LinkedUp!, is using the professional platform to help people find love. According to the app’s official Facebook page: “LinkedUp! is the first interactive mobile dating application that allows users to find matches using LinkedIn’s quality user base.”

LinkedUp! takes users’ personal information directly from LinkedIn and then matches you with other profiles based on search criteria. So instead of deciding who to go out with strictly based on looks, like on Tinder, users are able to see whether their professional interests are compatible. But don’t worry: you’re still able to add your own photos to keep things shallow.

The app was founded by 28-year-old former investment banker Max Fischer and is not affiliated with LinkedIn (nor is he the main character from Rushmore). The idea for the app, Fischer told The Guardian, “came from realizing that some of my friends, myself included, were able to actually find dates on LinkedIn using their messaging platform.”

LinkedUp! has been available for a free download on iTunes since April 21; so far, there’s one 5-star review.
