Newt Gingrich Knows the Exact Number of Teachers Who Should Have Guns in Any Given School

Latest

As the debate around gun control rages in the days following the mass shooting at Stoneman High School in Parkland, FL, former Speaker of the House turned permanent cable gasbag Newt Gingrich thinks what America really needs is more guns in schools, not less.

During Tuesday morning’s broadcast of Fox & Friends, Gingrich suggested schools should have “a minimum of six to eight teachers and administrators who are trained in the use of firearms, and have concealed-carry permits, and are prepared to defend the kids.”

Gingrich said that arming random teachers to the teeth in schools across America was the “only long term solution” to gun violence. (I can think of another solution!) He did not explain how he arrived at that number, though. Why bother to show your work when you’re talking about something as trivial as making teachers carry guns with them in school?
