Niall Dunne: climate change isn't just about doom, gloom and polar bears

Latest

Niall Dunne, chief sustainable officer for BT Group, is calling for a new narrative on climate change, because the old talking points aren’t working.

“Too much of the narrative of the last 10-15 years has been doom and gloom,” Dunne says. That focus, he added. makes the problem seem “peripheral — about polar bears” and “so depressing you wouldn’t even know where to start taking action.”

But it’s not all negative. In fact, policy for climate change is actually good for business and has show that “green growth” is possible. He says there are already signs of a “clean tech boom” with companies like Tesla and Airbnb, which shows that “clean tech is cool.”
