Early Sunday evening, The Sun reported that the boys of 1D had "mutually agreed to an extended hiatus of at least a year to pursue solo projects."
An anonymous source also told the tabloid that the four remaining members of The Band with No Zayn will not tour to support their upcoming fifth studio album. If true, that would make their On The Road Again Tour stop in Sheffield on Oct. 31 their final performance as a group—at least for now.
By the looks of Twitter, the Directioners aren't exactly buying The Sun's reporting.
But to be fair, the "Drag Me Down" singers have hinted at a hiatus—if not a full-on breakup—after album number five for a while. X Factor judge and Syco Entertainment owner Simon Cowell has suggested as much many times in the past (One Direction are signed to a Syco subsidiary). Liam even hinted at a break earlier this month.
Fusion has reached out to One Direction's camp, and we'll update the story if we hear back—about the hiatus rumors or the Larry sex tape.
