Despite Katy Perry’s best efforts, the VMAs managed to give us some interesting political moments, including an anti-racist speech from a direct descendent of Robert E. Lee and an emotional speech from Susan Bro, mother of activist Heather Heyer, who was killed just two weeks go in Charlottesville. The entire show was peppered with cheeky references to the president and resisting the violent racist culture he’s allowed to bubble over. But probably the most vehemently anti-Trump commentary came during a commercial break, by way of YG.

LMAO.
