Pope Francis is now on Instagram

Pope Francis continued making inroads in the world of social media on Saturday, launching an account on Instagram.

"I am beginning a new journey, on Instagram," Francis tweeted — a sentence whose very existence would have flummoxed the vast majority of his 265 predecessors. (Something tells us Gelasius I might have understood.)

The Pope's account is @franciscus. Here's his first upload. No word on whether or not Francis used a filter.
