The Red Hot Chili Peppers canceled a California show Saturday after singer Anthony Kiedis was reportedly hospitalized.
“Unfortunately there’s a medical thing that happened and he needed to deal with it,” bassist Flea told the audience, according to a video from the event.
The band had been scheduled to play at KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in California. According to Billboard, Kiedis was taken to the hospital from the venue after suffering from severe stomach pain.
Drummer Chad Smith tweeted on Sunday that he was “sending love and a speedy recovery to Anthony.”
