Actress and activist Rose McGowan shared several impassioned tweets about her sexual assault this week after several women came forward to accuse Donald Trump of sexually harassing or abusing them.

Writing in the #WhyWomenDontReport hashtag, which is dedicated to enumerating the patriarchal reasons why many women don't report sexual harassment or rape to authorities, McGowan said that her rapist was a Hollywood studio head and that she had been told no one would believe her story.

Earlier this year, McGowan shared a story about her sexual assault in response to the lenient sentence given to the Stanford rapist Brock Turner.
