Sand, fire, and vagina dentata: the new 'Mad Max: Fury Road' international trailer

If you need a break from the cold snap, pump up the volume on the latest international trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road. Set to the rousing music of Verdi’s Requiem, the sandy, desert landscape and innumerable sleeveless warriors guarantee this is going to be one hot, crazy ride.

Tom Hardy takes over Mel Gibson’s titular role in the reimagination of the franchise. There hasn’t been a Mad Max movie in the zeitgeist in 30 years, and judging from this trailer, Hardy’s doing the character justice. “Everybody’s gone out of their mind.” — Indeed.

“The Wives,” are played by Divergent’s Zoe Kravitz, Magic Mike’s Riley Keough, Transformers’ Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, supermodel Abbey Lee and in her big-screen debut, actress Courtney Eaton. Charlize Theron, their leader of sorts, warns, “Out here everything hurts. Now pick up what you can and run.”

Another highlight of the trailer is this still of one of the women in suede shorts complete with vagina dentata utility belt…

Then this crazy fire twister happens.

The only thing the trailer lacks is a timeless ballad the likes of which we haven’t seen since Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero” from the soundtrack for Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome:

Aside from that, this movie seems to be ready and rearing for its stateside release on May 15th.
