Saturday Night Live's Trump press conference is just a little too real this week

President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration happens Friday, which means everything is terrible. Watching Alec Baldwin make his sassy-Trump face this week just brings on worries of impeding doom instead of laughter.

In addition to this week just generally being the worst, the cold open falls flat by focusing too heavily on the unfounded report about Trump’s sexual exploits. First off, making fun of what people do in the bedroom usually just isn’t humorous. Pair that with everything we need to actually be worried about with Trump, and the jokes about golden showers miss the mark.

Even so, the cold open has plenty of moments that should be funny, but right at this moment, it all just might be a little too real to laugh through the pain.
