Sinclair Airs 'Must-Run' Propaganda Segment Praising Trump on Child Detention

Sinclair Broadcast Group is spreading right wing bullshit again through its ever-expanding media empire. The conglomerate is now pushing a so-called “must-run” segment for its 100+ local stations criticizing the media for “exaggerated” reporting on Donald Trump’s family separation policy.

The commentary features Boris Epshteyn, Sinclair’s “chief political analyst” and a former Trump adviser who’s known for praising the president’s every move.

“Many members of the media and opponents of the president have seized on this issue to make it seem as if those who are tough on immigration are somehow monsters,” Epshteyn began. “Let’s be honest. While some of the concern is real, a lot of it is politically driven by the liberals in politics and the media.”

Then, Epshteyn praised Trump for “correctly decid[ing] to step in and sign an executive order that will stop the separation of children from their families at the border,” without any mention that it was Trump himself who implemented the separation policy in the first place.

Epshteyn also failed to mention that Trump repeatedly blamed the Democrats and Congress for being unable to pass some sort of law to stop family separation, even though the decision rested in his hands all along.

This is far from the first time Sinclair squeezed in a “must-run” segment of pro-Trump propaganda into its local newscasts. Epshteyn is infamous for defending Trump’s “both sides” statement after Charlottesville and regularly attacking the media for being too mean to the president.

“The president is working to show that it is possible to balance humanity with security for our borders,” Epshteyn concluded, giving credit to the guy who’s responsible for ripping toddlers from parents and putting children in cages without thinking through a plan to bring them back together.
