Anton Yelchin, the actor best known for "Star Trek" and "Alpha Dog," died in a car accident Sunday morning. He was 27.

Yelchin was reportedly found by law enforcement officials pinned between his car and a mailbox, which was attached to a security gate, according to TMZ. The car's engine was running and it was in neutral, TMZ reported.

Foul play is not suspected, police said. It's unclear why he got out of the car.

Yelchin played Checkhov in the "Star Trek" films. The third of which, "Star Trek Beyond," is slated to be released in July.
