“The concept of youth is very complicated, because being young doesn’t mean anything.

“Being young doesn’t mean you have to be revolutionary and being young doesn’t mean you’re a dissident — those are just social constructs.

“As young feminists we want to act with autonomy, with a different logic than the government and traditional social and political movements, which operate in a super vertical manner. We, on the other hand, are trying to be more horizontal in our policies, our autonomy and our relationship with the state and other organizations that try to influence our decisions.

“Being a feminist doesn’t mean anything. You have to take an integral approach when fighting for a better world — one that brings us together with other movements; even men can deconstruct their position of power and understand their position of privilege in the world.”
