The Park Slope, Brooklyn resident who started a petition to stop the city of New York from building two homeless shelters in her neighborhood is the founder of a women’s rights group who “sees no conflict in advocating against the shelters, despite its intended purpose of serving mostly women and children.” Mmm hmm.
Researchers estimate that Los Angeles could cut homeless spending by $33 million per year “if it provided homes to elderly people who lack them.” Is this wacky idea worth a try?
