The Treasury Department rejected House Democrats’ subpoena for Donald Trump’s tax returns today, a thing which I did not know you could do. Looks like this one is headed to court.
The New York State Senate passed two bills today, one to authorize the state tax commissioner to release returns requested by Congress and the other eliminating a loophole giving those who’ve been pardoned at the federal level immunity from state prosecutors. Wonder if they have anyone in mind.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand today became the first 2020 candidate to release her latest tax returns. She is calling on other candidates to do the same. House Democrats could force Donald Trump to join her, but Ways and Means chair Richard Neal is dragging his proverbial ass about it.
