The Red Ranger is powerlifting the forces of evil away
LatestGenerally speaking, Red Power Rangers have had storied reputations of being fitness buffs both as a superheroes and while in civilian form.
Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger, and the actor who portrayed him (Austin St. John) were both accomplished martial artists in their heydays. Similarly, Jason David Frank, the first Red Zeo Ranger (and the original Green Ranger,) is now a mixed martial arts fighter and inductee into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. As best as we can tell, though, there’s never been a powerlifting Red Ranger…until now.
Mike Farr is a powerlifter living in Northern California. He dances. He lifts. He moonlights as Power Ranger. He said that he was inspired to don the iconic suit after he saw a friend of his sporting a Green Ranger outfit for a performance.
“I saw how awesome his Green Ranger video was so I asked him if we could do another skit,” Farr told Fusion. “Deadlift is one of my better lifts and my training has been going well so I decided to hit a personal best in the Red Ranger outfit.”It’s unclear if Farr’s strength is coming from his power coin, but if his Instagram feed is to be believed, all of that power is coming from within.
