This Brazilian doggie bunk bed might just save your marriage

If you’re one of those pet owners who absolutely and unabashedly pampers your dog or cat, a company in Brazil has something just for you.

Brazilian mattress company Colchao Inteligente Postural has designed a special pet bed that for all practical purposes is a pet bunk bed that will help keep dog hairs off the sheets.

Custom-made, the pet bed is removable and fits into the side of a box spring. It comes complete with curtains, and can even be outfitted with lights.

Filipe Guterson Machado, the CEO of Colchao Inteligente, said the company focuses on making custom mattresses, but got into the pet-bed business two years ago when a client asked him to find a way for her dog to sleep with her but not in the bed.

“This was a way for the pet to sleep in the same bed but not exactly next to her,” he said.

The company officially launched the pet bed in 2014 in Brazil. It offers them for pets of all sizes, and they are sold in tandem with custom designed mattresses.

Currently, the beds are sold in Brazil and several other Latin American countries, as well as the United Arab Emirates. They will go on sale in the United States in March, with a price range of $2,500 – $5,000.

Guterson said he’s already received requests from potential customers in the United States. And he’s even got a plug from Paris Hilton, who posted a picture of the one of the beds on her Facebook page and wrote, “NEED this.”
