This California congresswoman just gave the most ferocious condemnation of Trump yet

Georgia representative and civil rights icon John Lewis may be getting all the headlines these days for laying into Donald Trump as not a “legitimate” president. But as far as actually spitting fire at the incoming administration goes, Lewis has nothing on California Rep. Maxine Waters.

Waters, a 13-term representative from California’s 43rd district, spoke with MSNBC’s Tamron Hall on Tuesday, where she skewered the President-elect as “a danger,” and made clear she had no intention of participating in Trump’s inaugural celebration.

“After I discovered who Trump is in the way that he conducted himself, I was never going to go to the inauguration,” Waters said, when asked by Hall about Lewis’ pledge to skip out on Trump’s swearing-in. “I never planned, I never contemplated even going near any of those activities or those events.”

But Waters wasn’t close to done with her rhetorical bombardment. She was just warming up.

“I don’t like the way he has, y’know, misled people—the way that he has lied,” she explained. I don’t like the way he has disparaged folks. I don’t like the way he mimicked and mocked a disabled man. I don’t like the way he talked about women and grabbing their private parts.”

“And so,” she told Hall, “there’s nothing about him I would want to be involved with. And certainly the inauguration is a way of welcoming in someone to the presidency and honoring them and respecting them.”

And then came the knockout uppercut:

“I don’t honor him, I don’t respect him and I don’t want to be involved with him,” Waters concluded, lest anyone misinterpret her stance on the president-elect.
