Despite what your instincts may tell you, the image you are looking at above is of three coffee cups and not, you might assume, three Fleshlights.
A Fleshlight, you'll remember, is a flashlight-shaped sex toy that's lined with a soft, flesh-light material that creates a vaccum seal when thrust into. Fleshlights come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but one of the most popular models features an entrance meant to resemble a human mouth.
As eerie as the similarities may, be the two items do, in fact, serve vastly different purposes.
Jang WooSeok, an industrial designer living in Sunchon, South Korea, has a deep, abiding love for his morning coffee. So intense is his relationship with the beverage that he set out to rethink the way that people interacted with it on a physical level.
Being a coffee lover is one thing, WooSeok reasoned, but what about people who felt as if they were legitimately in love with their cups of joe? Enter the "Kiss When Coffee," a coffee cup lid modeled after a human mouth and nose designed to simulate the experience of kissing someone with each sip of your favorite hot beverage.
On the lid's product concept page, WooSeok that he came up with the idea for the lids one day while drinking his daily coffee and thinking about how it filled him with a pleasure that he likened to being kissed by a lover. Early prototypes of the cup only featured the signature pair of lips, but WooSeok says that the experience was ruined by the conspicuous lack of nose bumping.
A disposable version of the Kiss When Coffee lid is currently being produced in small batches for a local café, but WooSeok says that he has plans on producing a reusable tumbler version featuring the same mouth. You can't currently buy the disposable versions of the coffee lids, but you can show your love for WooSeok's passion over at his Behance page.
