Trump Made His Doctor Give Him a Brain Test and He…Passed?

President Donald Trump submitted himself to an annual physical exam, his first as president, late week. But if you were hoping the doctor who conducted the exam, White House physician Ronny Jackson, would reveal Trump is an unstable and unhinged old man who’s unfit to serve, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Jackson said Trump’s overall health is “excellent.”

In Tuesday’s press briefing, Jackson told reporters that Trump, who is 71 years old, stands 6’3″ and weighs 239 pounds, which is just shy of the BMI standard for obesity. He takes Crestor for high blood pressure, aspirin, Propecia to treat hair loss in men, and a multivitamin. Jackson recommended that Trump try to lose 10 to 15 pounds and attributed the president’s overall good health—despite his regularly being photographed eating fast food and having no daily exercise routine—to “great genes,” adding, “It’s just the way God made him.”

Jackson also emphasized, hilariously, that Trump himself requested a cognitive exam to check his brain out. Jackson performed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment—which is not a psychiatric evaluation—on the president, on which he scored a perfect 30 out of 30. Jackson said Trump wouldn’t have been able to achieve that score if he were not in tip-top mental shape, though he conceded that the repeated public concerns about Trump’s mental health spurred the president to take the test.
