At Tuesday night’s State of the Union, Donald Trump predictably went through his list of things that he has nothing to do with but will take credit for anyway, including the black unemployment rate.
“Unemployment claims have hit a 45-year low,” Trump said. “African-American unemployment stands at the lowest rate ever recorded, and Hispanic American unemployment has also reached the lowest levels in history.” (Unmentioned by him: Low black unemployment rates are part of a longer trend and racial disparities in unemployment persist.)
The Congressional Black Caucus was not having it. As everyone around them clapped, they stayed stone cold.
