Watch the moment Donald Trump's RNC speech was interrupted by a protester

Latest

A protester briefly managed to interrupt Donald Trump’s acceptance speech during the 2016 Republican National Convention, attempting to put up a banner that says “Build Bridges Not Walls.” She was quickly restrained and escorted from the building.

Journalists who saw the protester attempt to unfurl a banner at the convention identified her as Medea Benjamin of the Code Pink protest group.

Benjamin caused a brief stir in the convention center, causing Trump to pause in his prepared remarks and the crowd to break out in applause and “U-S-A” chants as she was removed from the stands.

In previous campaign appearances, Trump has been less than restrained in his interactions with protest. But this time, he simply smirked and said, “How great are our police? And how great is Cleveland?” before returning to his speech.

This isn’t the first time Code Pink protesters have made it into the convention this week. Earlier in the day, Benjamin posted this message on Twitter.

Guess someone gave her tickets.
