Shonda Rhimes — the powerhouse producer behind Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder — just announced a new show is on the way, so don't plan on having any free time this fall. According to Variety, The Catch is a thriller about fictional fraud investigator Alice Martin.
The thriller follows her as she’s about to get married — and about to get conned. And unbeknownst to the man she’s about to marry, Alice is not all she claims to be. When her fiancé’s expertly planned con collides with her perfectly constructed lies, the couple plunges into a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
Cons within cons! Wheels within wheels! Shonda reveals are epic, so sign me up. The Killing's Mireille Enos is set to star, and Rhimes will executive produce alongside Shondaland's Betsy Beers and Canny Lads Production team Jennifer Schuur and Julie Anne Robinson. It feels like Rhimes is single-handedly diversifying the Hollywood landscape by hiring women behind the scenes and in premium starring roles, and I am here for it.
A premiere date has not yet been announced, so we'll just sit here on the edge of our seats for the next year just in case.
