We're living in the golden age of celebrity lip-syncing
LatestThere’s Spike TV’s breakout hit, Celebrity Lip Sync Battle. And RuPaul’s Drag Race “Lip Sync for Your Life” eliminations. Plus The Tonight Show‘s bouts, and the old, but recently reinvigorated app, “Dubsmash.” All have breathed new life into the art of focused rhythmic mouth movements. Rarely a day goes by without new videos featuring celebs flexing their immaculate lip muscles. But not all lip-dubs are created equal.
These are the best of the very best:
Emma Stone, “All I Do Is Win”
Let’s start it off with the queen of the lip-dub. Emma Stone’s large mouth and expressive eyes lend additional character to Dj Kahled’s ostentatious club jam. It doesn’t help that a short-sighted Fallon challenged Stone with his own rendition of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.” Pretty clear winner in this battle.Ashley Benson “Got Him”
Everyone’s favorite absurd joke (we’re referencing the BOFA, yes) was given the Pretty Little Liars treatment.
Allison Williams “Monster”
Nicki Minaj’s legendary verse in Kanye’s “Monster” is fivesure a way to get cheers.
Anne Hathaway “Wrecking Ball”
She brought it. Maybe people will stop hating on her so hard now idk…Common “All Night Long”
Come for the wig, stay for Lionel Richie awkwardness and Chrissy Teigen’s priceless laughter.JGL, “Tiny Dancer”
Does Elton go that hard on stage? Well, probably not since he’s playing the piano AND singing, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t rock out.Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Shake it Off”
We’ve fan-girled over The Rock here before, but this is peak form for the fiiiiiiiiiine ass wrestler/actor. Tay Tay better smell what he’s cooking.Adam Levine, “Pulp Fiction” reimagined
The Maroon 5 front man was all over this app 4 months ago.
Paul Rudd, “Don’t Stop Me Now”
In addition to having an ageless face, Mr. Rudd has a timeless lip-sync strategy: hit em with the belters. Using Queen’s Freddie Mercury as his muse, the comedic goliath stepped all over the competition with this rousing number.Reese Witherspoon ft. Sofia Vergara “Trouble ft. Goats”
A+ use of Tay Tay and that hollering goat.
Unfortunately the entirety of the “Lip Sync for Your Life” battles catalogue is unavailable to view. Take our word for it, though, those Drag Queens bring the FIRE.
