'The Force Awakens' is actually a love story between these two men

If you saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens this weekend, then you’ve undoubtedly figured out that in addition to being one of the best Star Wars movies in decades (sorry, Padmé,) it’s also, in the minds of the Tumblr cognoscenti, a very well-crafted origin story about Finn and Poe Dameron’s burgeoning love for one another.

Though Finn spends a considerable amount of time trying to (platonically) hold Rey’s hand, the good people of Tumblr are rallying behind the idea that deep down inside, it’s really Poe that Finn’s heart burns for.

Just in case you needed more convincing, there’s plenty of fanart and fictions proving that these two should be your new OTP. Let’s start with the evidence in the film itself that Foe (Finn x Poe) is a thing:

Finn rescues Poe from the First Order…

…and Poe returns the favor by giving Finn his jacket and a proper name.

Those longing stares probably led to something like this:

Who is it that saves Finn when he’s ambushed on Takodana? Poe.

What were Finn and Poe doing during their downtime on the Rebel base?

They were snuggling, obviously.

And keeping love alive in a galaxy far, far away…

Just look at how happy they are.

Finn’s got anxiety, but Poe’s there to help him through it.

Poe’s cool, sure, but Finn knows he’s a big old softie.

Even if you think Rey and Finn are meant to be, you know that she’d probably be down to share.

So there you have it. Finn and Poe are a thing and that thing is a very big deal.
